Hey Ladies! π―

Hey Ladies! follows a group of 20-and 30-something girlfriends over the course of a year entirely via emails, texts, and DMs. I had the opportunity to be on the other side of the book making process by illustrating!

Above is the final illustration of all the fictional girls that was featured on the back cover, but it took a few iterations to get to this point!

This is the first try. I had done this icon style based on the Lucky Peach infographic, Kitchen Brigade, which was the piece I was initially hired from, but after reviewing this version with the editor and authors, they wanted to go in a more realistic direction! With a lot of work and reference shots, we ended up with the final!

This is my hilarious reference shot. I photographed this individually and photoshopped them altogether. A lot of my illustrations ares simple and icon-based, so for doing something more realistic, I wanted to have a reference. From here, I drew over this and made thisβ¦

This is the final two-color version for in the book.

This is one of the first pieces I did for the book, and itβs one of my favorite. I really enjoy making infographics. This was a perfect balance of icon-based illustration and design, which is where I think my strengths lie.
